Open An Account : An Overview |
The first step in becoming an Indian Ocean Asset Management Client is to apply to open an account. Our account opening process ensures that you supply sufficient information regarding yourself and your circumstances to satisfy both our, and our Custodians, regulatory requirements.
1. Download account opening form
Please download the form appropriate to your situation.
All our online account opening documentation are presented in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format, and will therefore require a version of Adobe Acrobat Reader to be installed on you computer. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed you may download and install a version from the Adobe website for no cost.
Once downloaded you will able to view and print the account opening documentation.

2. Print and read account opening form
Print and carefully read the account opening form, including the “Terms & Conditions” at the rear of the form. We suggest that if you do not understand, or are not completely comfortable with any aspect of the form you should either contact us or consult your financial advisor.
3. Form completion
Complete and Sign every appropriate section of the Account Opening Form. Instructions to which sections need to be completed are on the front page of the form. Certain sections require a witness to your signature. These instances are clearly marked.
4. Supporting documentation
Gather all required supporting documentation requested on the form. Different documentation is required dependent upon your situation and is specific to each account opening form. Certain items will need to be supplied in original form; whilst others can be supplied in certified copy. This is clearly indicated on the form.
5. Return documentation to us.
Signed original Account Opening Forms and requested documentation (as specified on the account opening form) must be returned to us. We suggest however that you send us your completed documentation by facsimile prior to delivery of the original hard copy, thus allowing expedition of the account opening process. No account, however, will become active until all requested, signed original copies have been received, processed and approved by us.
